Three Days Down

The proposal

A voluntary, nonviolent 72-hour pause in nonessential work and spending, focused on protecting Palestinian children and civilians. Participation would depend on local law, personal circumstances and a reviewed plan.

This is an independent proposal seeking support and criticism. No action date has been announced. The campaign makes no claim to represent Palestinians or an established coalition.

What the proposal seeks

Protection of children and civilians, humanitarian access and continuity of medical care, and accountability for civilian harm through lawful processes.

These are the campaign's objectives. Humanitarian reports and legal decisions inform the public case; they do not endorse this campaign or authorise participation in any jurisdiction.

What a pledge means

I support the proposal for a voluntary, nonviolent civic pause for Palestinian children and civilians. I will decide whether and how to participate after reviewing the final plan, local law and my circumstances. Essential services and care must continue. This expression of support does not commit me to a date or any later action.

Care continues

No violence, hate, harassment, sabotage or coercion. Healthcare, emergency response, humanitarian aid, food, water, sanitation, essential transport and caregiving continue. Nobody should be shamed for not participating.

Essential-service workers and people who cannot stop work can support civilian protection through off-duty, lawful and lower-risk options. A global count provides no guarantee against employment or other consequences.

Readiness and the proposed target

150 million is the proposal's provisional ambition. It is not an independently established threshold for success or safety. The count currently records expressions of support; it is not an independently audited total of unique people or a forecast of participation.

Readiness also requires accountable organisers, informed local participation, appropriate legal and safety review, continuity of essential services, accessible translations and a credible verification method.

How a date would be decided

No action date has been announced. A preparation period, accountable decision process and readiness criteria must be published before any date is authorised. Reaching a pledge total does not automatically announce an action.

Any announcement must identify the authorising stewards, the reasoning, the preparation period and the postponement or cancellation process. This website's updates page will be the official reference.

People and stewardship

Ciorsdan Hibbert initiated the proposal and currently maintains the website. A coalition stewardship structure and independent verification process have not yet been established. The proposal seeks critical review, including meaningful input from Palestinian organisations and affected communities.

Three Days Down does not solicit donations or sell participant data. Questions about running costs, affiliations or possible conflicts of interest can be directed to the initiator.

A future handover must specify responsibility for the domain, repository, hosting, participant data, complaints and public decisions. Supporters will be told about material changes.

If the target is not reached

There is no automatic fallback date. The proposal remains open to review, including continuation, revision or closure. Any change to the target must be explained publicly through the agreed stewardship process.

Existing support must not be silently treated as agreement to materially different terms. A longer or later action would be a separate proposal requiring fresh review and a new participation decision.

Privacy and withdrawal

A display name or alias and country are required; an email, phone number, employer, street address and donation are not. Public name display is off by default. Only people who deliberately opt in appear in the named public list.

New pledges receive a private withdrawal code. Keep it somewhere safe and use the withdrawal page to remove the pledge. For earlier pledges, lost codes or corrections, contact the initiator. Previously downloaded public copies cannot necessarily be recalled.

Evidence and limits

The evidence page links to dated WHO, WFP, OHCHR, MSF and ICJ documents and identifies their reporting periods and scope. Provisional-measures orders, advisory opinions and final judgments are different legal instruments.

No numerical prediction of economic losses is presented as an established impact forecast. The proposal's strategy, verification method and readiness criteria remain subjects for critical review.
